While my drawing hand was injured I decided to make some sketch dumps. I had my notebooks from when I younger scanned already so decided to go with them- that and the Crystal Games posts went over well I decided to post more from that period of my life. This is almost everything I drew in my notebooks during class that year. At some point I'll have to scan and post the stuff from my sketch books from back then.

---
So, yeah, Fullmetal Alchemist had started airing and was my new favorite series. I still drew Inu-Yasha, but not as much as FMA. I was also drawing the faces that Edward from Cowboy Bebop made on everything. I drew more of my dreams and made more fan characters as well as starting one more comic besides Crystal Games. I only ever made a handful pages for it but I my a lot of art and working comics in my notebooks.

Although I had started thinking up "The Four of Us" (the series I'm working on with :iconsparklefairymangofsh:) the year prior it would be until this school year that it would really start appearing in my notebooks. The character that is Light shows up a lot...

What I learned:
Art: I was getting better at forms and shapes on people and was able to keep proportions sometimes, but looking back I think my full body images from 2002-2004 were better than from 2004-2005. The moment that I decided I would be drawing legs proportions would go out the window. "Proportions. What even are they? F*cking magnets?"

I really started playing with line thickness and large areas of black. What I learned from those experiments would stick with me forever. The simplest way I can think of to describe my process for it is: after the line art is made go back to every spot where two lines meet and add black to round out the corner they make as well as adding black to areas which would be shadowed.

Here is Crystal Games so you can read what I learned  about comics and art in the artist comments: dark-momento-mori.deviantart.c…
